The Monitoring of Illegal Killing of Elephants (MIKE) provides information needed for elephant range States to make appropriate management and enforcement decisions, and to build institutional capacity for their long-term management of their elephant populations. It is a programme of the Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species (Cites).

We work closely with the Kenya Wildlife Service and conservation partners to provide the programme the data on illegal hunting of elephants and trends over time for its ‘Laikipia and Samburu MIKE site’
